Here are a list of films that I recommend to get you in the mood for playing Changeling:
- Anything by Terry Gilliam, including:
The Adventures of Baron Munchausen - Baron Munchausen takes a theater full of people on a journey through the Dreaming. This story exmplifies the effects of Glamour and Banality on the Fae.
Brazil - This story is about a man's personal dreams while he is trapped in a Banal world.
The Fisher King - Robin Williams plays a homeless man who talks to fairies; he quests for the Holy Grail. Jeff Bridges plays the reluctant knight who comes to his rescue.
- Life is Beautiful - A man tries to shelter his son from the horrors of a Nazi concentration camp. Guido (the main character) is one of the best depictions of a Pooka I've seen in movies or TV.
- Dark City - If Sluagh ruled the world...
- The Princess Bride - A nice fairy tale... A good sense of what storytelling roleplay should be like.
Changeling Novels
- The Toybox Series - by Jackie Cassada - Not terribly good books; in fact, it sort of reads like someone jotted down notes of their Changeling Chronicle and then fleshed it out a bit, but it gives you an idea of what playing Changeling is like.
- The Talisman - by Steven King and Peter Straub. It's not precisely Changeling, but it gives you a pretty good idea.
